Yesterday Renault joined the test in Jerez, and as always Heikki was in charge of improving the car before the German and Hungarian Grands Prix. Heikki was working hard on the aerodynamic developments for the German Grand Prix. He was also joined at the track by Jose Maria Lopes, and together they were evaluating tyres for the forthcoming Grand Prix.

The timesheets at the end of the day showed Heikki on the second place behind Pedro De la Rosa’s McLaren.

The time has come, and the Heikki’s pictures taken during the Goodwood Festival of Speed are now online! This is combined effort of Vera and Iryna during the first two days of the Festival. Enjoy!

7-8 Jul 06. The main theme of this year’s Festival was “Renault: a Grand Prix Century 1906 - 2006”. Renault brought the impressive selection of cars, from their very first racing machines to the 2005 championship winning Renault R25.

6 Jul 06. The third day of testing turned out to be the best for Heikki when he topped the timesheets with the best time of 01:16.854. Heikki was the only driver who managed to lap Jerez in less than 77 seconds.

Life has been quite busy lately for Heikki – responsibilities of an F1 driver take him all over the world. Only last month, on 17 and 18 June, Heikki has done some demonstration laps in the Renault Formula 1 car during the World Series by Renault weekend in Istanbul, Turkey.
